The modern facility located majestically on the water’s edge of Athabasca River offers the residents amazing views from the large deck and centrally located dining room. The new facility sits directly across from the Fort McKay Day Center offering synergies between the 2 facilities combining a new shared gazebo and outdoor park area . The new building includes 13 single suites, 2 double suites, 1 palliative care suite, office admin, commercial kitchen, deck, dining area, cultural rooms, treatment room and a staff sleeping quarters. The new facility will give the Fort McKay elder residents the opportunity to stay in the Nation rather then relocating elsewhere to receive the care they require.
